Plant observations suggest ecosystem models need refining

According to new research published in Nature, scientific experiments are not reflecting the impact of global warming on plants.

By comparing observational data of the timing of events such as flowering with experiments that investigated the impact of warming, researchers proved that experimental results underestimated changes in the timing of flowering and leafing as opposed to observed changes. The authors propose a re-evaluation of all climate impact projections using ecosystem modelling based on experimental results.
